The work in the EVAH Project is planned to ensure that the stated goals are accomplished effectively within the defined time and resource constraints. The total duration of the Project is 18 months. The role of each partner in each activity is in line with its experience and expertise.

What are the main activities planned?

  • A Target Group Survey will be conducted among decision-makers about historic city preservation and handcrafts, in order to gauge their level of knowledge.
  • An IT Platform will be established in order to allow key actors involved in the cultural heritage sector retrieve information, support networking and engage in value added activities.
  • Four workshops will be held, each with about 50 key decision-makers from the partnering countries. Themes will be:
    - Cultural Heritage as a Motor for Economic Development and Maintaining         Knowledge to be held in the village of Metsovo, Greece
    - Arts and Crafts and the Revitalization of Historic Cities to be held in Ohrid, the         F.Y.R.O.M.
    - EU Instruments for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage to be held in Kosovo
    - European Values in Management Guidelines for Historic Cities to be held in Gjirokastra, Albania
  • A Manual on “Management Guidelines for Historic Cities” will be published in the four partner languages as a practical resource and working tool for decision-makers.
  • Full-colour Educational Booklets about the four participating historic cities will be published, presenting and explaining their historical, cultural, religious and aesthetic values.
  • A Young Artists Travelling Exhibition will reflect the subject of the project from an artistic or creative perspective.
  • A 30-minute Educational DVD will be produced to illustrate the issues discussed in the four workshops, showing both the problems and how they can be solved.
